Founding date
The PAA of Falmouth was founded in 1980, with a charter applied for and issued in 1983, making it an Incorporation.
The Portuguese American Association of Falmouth, Inc. is a non-profit corporation established to promote the culture, friendship and outreach of members.
The Portuguese American Association of Falmouth, Inc. (Cape Cod Massachusetts) was created in 1983 to serve the interests of its members to share and provide outreach to those individuals and families wishing to carry on the traditions of the Portuguese people.
Central to the PAA was the creation of a full service Function Facility called "The Navigator". The facility can hold up to 200 people inside and another 200 on the outdoor patio. The Navigator is located on a 4-acre parcel of land with substantial parking and in a very pretty tree-lined and flowered area.
The PAA of Falmouth hosts many events through the year: Carnaval!, April in Portugal, Day of Portugal, Scholarship Dinner, Harvest Dinner, and many other functions open to the Public. While we have monthly dinner meetings of our membership, we have "Social Meetings" throughout the year.
The appeal of the PAA of Falmouth is its diverse membership. An example of an outreach is The Navigator hosts the Falmouth Service Center Thanksgiving Day dinner. There is a large commercial kitchen that accommodates multi-hundreds of visitors and supported by volunteers! The Navigator facility also is a voting precinct for locals, state, and federal elections.
Our membership is family-based with active committees supporting its outreach and management of The Navigator.
